Plainville, CT is a town located in Hartford County in Connecticut between Bristol and New Britain. It’s also located near Farmington and Hartford. It was originally incorporated as part of Farmington in the 1660s, but separated from Farmington after it began to grow rapidly, due to new railroads. Today, around 17,716 people live in the town of Plainville.
Many who live in Plainville commute to work in Farmington or Hartford, but Plainville itself is also quite economically strong, and has several major companies who employ large percentages of the population. This includes GE Industrial Solutions, Gems Sensors & Controls, Carling Technologies, and Connecticut Tool & Manufacturing.
